Quick mold growth LG unhelpful

We bought this air conditioner 1.5 years ago and recently noticed that mold was growing on the inside of the AC also smelled. We have been following the recommended guidance for replacing and cleaning the filter yet this still happened. Since it has been over a year LG wont do anything to help us. It is impossible to open the AC and reach where the mold is to clean it while be aware of the electrical parts inside the AC. It is a little ridiculous that this would happen so soon after buying it while following the manufacturers care instructions. The only solution we are left with besides paying someone more than what the AC is worth to attempt to clean it is to buy a new one. We have heard from neighbors that other brands are more helpful when you run into this issue and not as inflexible to account for six months over the warranty so we will not be purchasing from LG in the future. Very disappointing and poor customer service.

Temperature control problems

Ordered thru Lowes but unit did not function properly. The compressor and fun operated correctly but would not reach set temperature. Even running it in cool mode with the temp set to min 60 deg the compressor would run for a while then shut off. Like it had reached set temp even though it was set for 60 deg and the room was at 78 deg. The room is well within the 250 ft. Compressor would start at times then shut down. Would not cool the room. It was like the sensor thst tells the unit the entering air temp was a lot different that it actually was. Saw a few other people had this same issue. Returned to Lowes for refund. Disappointing.

In late spring of this year I replaced an LG 6000 BTU air conditioner with another LG. After just a few months I noticed from the outside of the hast the back side of the unit was all rusty. Also I bought the model because the description said it was quiet to run. It definitely was not. Sorry to say how disappointing this has been.

Not very cooling

This u it is nice and small so we are using it to cool a south facing bedroom after it heats up in the afternoon Colorado sun. Unfortunately it doesnt actually cool very much. The low temp says 60f however the coldest air that comes out of the machine is 63.8f. While this is nice to get the room somewhat cooler it doesnt actually act as much of an AC. Additionally the fan feature actually heats the room up so if its colder than 64 outside and I turn on the fan to cool it off the room actually gets warmer. Not recommended if you want your space cooler than 65.

Its a cool cooler for its size

This small air conditioner packs a nice punch above its weight. Cools off our dining area quickly even on the really hot days we have been having. Also it is pretty quiet even when running at high cooling setting. The remote is really handy for us because its a bit of a hassle getting to the unit to turn it on or off or make temperature changes. All in all I am pleased with this device and recommend it to those who need some extra cooling in a smallish room.

I initially bought one then I liked it so much I bought another. Less noisy then most window units. When the compressor cycles the window doesnt shake like my old one did. I like that it vents up so it is not blowing directly on you and directing the air to the hottest part of the room the ceiling. You can buy cheaper why not buy better?

Noisy remote useless no Celsius settings

I just installed this AC and its NOT quiet its exactly like any cheap 5000 - 60000 BTU window unit. The remote is useless since it has no screen so you dont know what you just selected. LG wasnt able to switch the screen from Fahrenheit to Celsius on the unit itself.

Happy with my new LG window air conditioner

I bought this LG window air conditioner becasuse I was very happy with the LG window unit that I had purchased for another room about 12 or more years ago. The new one replaces one of unknown brand that was in my house when I purchased it 40 years ago at which time the home inspector told us that it needed to be replaced. However it worked well all these years but was showing signs of needing a replacement especially with one that is more energy efficient. Although I definitely wont be living in this house and using this air conditioner forty years from now I hope that it will still be functioning well then.

Not Bad for Temp-to-Permanent Use

Bought for temporary cooling of master BR when central A/C failed Florida in the summer. Worked so well cooling the BR I decided to keep it installed. Now I use it to cool the room at night so I can leave the central A/C on a higher temperature for the rest of the house - saves $$. Although it is a bit louder than the central A/C its about the same as many motel thru-wall units and it acts as white noise to cover up sounds from outside and neighbors townhouse. It does allow more sunlight into the room faces south it is tolerable expanding flaps could be a bit more opaque. Although I had to jury-rig it a bit to fit the aluminum window sill it wasnt too bad and I was able to seal it up pretty well. Be careful when installing the insulating strips - once they touch a surface they dont come off without falling apart.

Not a bad unit for my 175 sqft uninsulated shed. In Texas the summer can be downright brutal. This unit brought me enough relief that I could get back to work in my tiny shop. It managed to keep it 80* while it was 100* outside. Pretty easy install as well. It could use a couple more drain holes on the bottom of the unit so water has no chance of sitting in the bottom and rusting it out and more adjustment angles for the vents which only adjust right or left - up and down would be nice too. Not huge deals but add those and this would be unbeatable for the money.

This air conditioner runs well and I like the air vents on top of the unit instead of facing on the front. However this year I noticed rust on the outside fins and at the bottom of the unit. Ive never had an issue with other make/models for rust issues. I contacted the company and their response was that they were not responsible for rust issues. While trying to clean the delicate fins with a scour pad I inspected the bottom and noticed a black cap and removed it. I found water coming out of it. It is probably my fault for not noticing that before but the instruction manual should have indicated the cap must be removed so condensation water could drain. I guess both the company and myself were in error. Otherwise Im very happy with the unit and hope it continues to run despite the damage with rust.

The air conditioner works fine. The only thing I would change about it is that when the timer is set the default goes to the energy saving mode which I dont like. I need the fan to be constant in order to sleep so I always have to change the mode to cool each time.

We replaced a LG 6000 Ac unit that we purchased 12 years ago. I was shocked that the unit lasted 12 years. The new one is quieter and more efficient due to the new design where the cooled air goes up instead of directly at you. Great new design.

Bought it when things started to heat up to help keep downstairs cooler. Given its BTU I wasnt expecting too much but it surpassed my expectations. Has a few nice features and looks pretty good too. All in all a good value unit.

I bought this in July only used it a few times due to cooler weather than normal. Seemed quieter than a lot of ACs and did its job. Only dislike is that it discharges air more toward ceiling than into the room.
