its very noisy at times and very irritating to neighbors have to drain the water sometimes to keep it quiet. Otherwise it keeps us cool and comfortable at night.

Since we live in Maine we never installed central air when we built our home 5 years ago and until this year never really needed air conditioning. Well this year that all changed and in order to get some restful sleep we purchased a GE room air conditioner and we are so grateful we did. Great features at a very reasonable cost

Easily installed this unit in my bedroom. All the weatherstripping was included. The housing was banged up a bumpy from shipping but all in all it is a good model for the price.

Bought this for my bedroom because our swamp cooler couldnt keep up with the heat weve been having. Works great gives my family a room to retreat to if the rest of the house gets to unbearable. Keeps my master bedroom and bathroom nice and cool which measures roughly about 24x12

I bought one then returned it and took another one and returned it for the same problem. the issue was that when the AC compressor shut off as the temperature cools it never go to the on state again it becomes fan only unless I close the electric source then starts it again

I had a GE AC Unit same kind as this one i recently purchased again Instead we got more BTU because our office is small but we noticed the 6000 doesnt cool down the entire office just part of it. Setting up was quite easy and basic... We love the fact that it fits in the same spot we had the A/C unit before...

It blows cold air.... But if you want a quiet one I would stay far away from it. The features are fine and it seems to work just fine but it really is exceptionally loud when on high.

Great quiet product. Works as intended.
One complaint: I wish it was designed to fit a two foot wide single-hung vinyl window. The opening width on my two foot window is 21inches - 1 inch smaller than the units minimum width requirement. It would have been nice to install the AC unit in a fairly common window without modifications.
It was not difficult for me to make the necessary changes just wish it would be considered for future designs.

I just purchased this unit today but so far I am glad I did. It cooled down my room in about 3 minutes. As far as the noise what noise? All ac units make noise so this is the average sound to me. As long as it continues to keep me cold I am happy

My central A/C went out and I had two more days to go before a serviceman could get to me. Being the hottest temps of the year were among us I could not go one more night at 90+ temps. So I went to store viewed the choices on display. This one caught my eye because of the features and how nice it looked.
Never have I installed a window A/C unit but I HAD to learn quickly. Got home read the instruction manual and within the hour I had the A/C blowing nice cool air on me. I am so thankful of the ease and having everything needed in one box.

I bought this one model up from what my son had gotten from GE and am pleased with the extra features like the display lights shutting off after 2 minutes. My son hangs a pair of sock in front of his so the light doesnt bother him at night. Installation was pretty easy and the extra foam strips and panels that my son didnt get with his made the installation more efficient. Cools the room great.
